The watch community unite in another show of generosity for Only Watch 2013. Into its fifth edition, the biennial event showcases unique watches to be auctioned for charity. In this case for the research on Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. Duchenne muscular dystrophy is a severe degenerative muscular disease that affects 1 in 3,500 child. That is no small number.
At every event, watch brands roll out piece unique pieces for the auction and this year 32 pieces are up for auction. More Passion at The Hour Glass Paragon is hosting the exhibition in Singapore between September 6th and 7th. I will feature some of the pieces this year - apologies for the poor quality of the photos as they are taken through the display case. Some I would like to picture but cannot as it does not do justice to the piece. Featuring in alphabetical order...
Christophe Claret X-Trem-1 Pinball.
DeWitt Twenty-8-Eight High Jewellery Skeleton Tourbillon
Jaquet Droz Les Ateliers D'Art, The Loving Butterfly
Laurent Ferrier, Galet Classic Tourbillon Double Spirale
Louis Vuitton Tambour Spin Time Regatta
Maurice Lacroix, Masterpiece Seconde Mysterieuse
Montblanc Nicolas Rieussec Rising
Patek Philippe Ref 5004 Titanium
Richard Mille "Tourbillon Prototype Yohan Blake"
Vacheron Constantin Patrimony Traditionelle World Time
Van Cleef and Arpels, Poetic Complication, Lady Arpels Une Journee A Monaco
Zenith, El Primero Stratos Flyback Striking 10th Tribute to Felix Baumgartner, Prototype.
There are a few pieces that I could not do justice with the photos I tried to take - The Chanel, Premiere Flying Troubillon. That is an absolute stunner in my opinion. Well made and definitely well constructed Camelia Flying Tourbillon made by Renaud et Papi. The other is the set of six Bell & Ross instrument watches.
I have two favorites - The DB28 and the Laurent Ferrier. And if I may say, the Patek 5004 is on everyone's list too. Thanks to The Hour Glass for the invite. More for information please visit OnlyWatch. I wish the auction well.
